If your pool has leaks or stains, resurfacing can provide a makeover that will breathe new life into an old, worn-out pool. Laguna Pool Service specializes in repairing and resurfacing plaster, gunite quartz, mini pebble and fiber glass swimming pools for the commercial sector as well as for residential homeowners.
Mini Pebble Surface
Mini pebble interior pool surface is also a plaster surface with a mini pebble aggregate mixed in. The mini pebbles actually comprise the majority of the surface of the pool. Mini Pebble is the most stain-resistant and most durable surface available and you can select from many different colors. Mini Pebble surfaces are more expensive than traditional plaster surfaces. You can expect a new pebble surface to give you 20-25 years of good service with proper care.
Plaster is still the most common interior pool surface. People like plaster because they're familiar with it and it's the least expensive of the pool surfaces. Most traditional plaster is white cement mixed with limestone or marble sand.
Many different color options are available today for plaster to achieve a unique look for your pool. Dark colored plaster offers a nice lagoon look to a pool. It must be carefully coordinated with the look of the tile, coping and deck in order to create a unified appearance. In order to provide the best possible color match, our plaster crew will make up samples on site for you to evaluate before starting the job.
Plaster is porous surface is the more susceptible to staining, bacteria growth and breakdown by the chemicals you add. Because plaster constantly reacts to water and chemicals, plaster pools use more chemicals to maintain a balanced water chemistry. Plaster doesn't typically last as long as the other surfaces. You can expect a new plaster surface to give you 15 to 20 years of good service with proper care.
A quartz interior pool surface is a mixture of cement with organic polymers, quartz (rock) and some other chemicals specifically designed to create a safe, slip resistant and very durable pool surface.
There are two benefits with quartz:
First, quartz is a very hard material. And because a percentage of your pool interior surface is now covered with a hard, non-porous, stain-resistant material - quartz - you have a more stain-resistant, more durable and longer-lasting surface than plaster alone.
Second, people like quartz because you can introduce colors into your pool interior with it. We only use 3M Colorquartz for our quartz pools. Quartz costs more than traditional plaster. You can expect a new quartz surface to give you 20 to 25 years of good service with proper care.
With over 20 years of experience, coupled with the use of the best materials on the market today, you'll get great results for any finish you choose.
